Delhi Earthquake Today: Massive earthquake tremors felt in Delhi-NCR

The National Centre for Seismology pinned the epicentre of the earthquake to Nepal.

Huge vibrations were detected in Delhi today as a result of a 4.6 magnitude earthquake in neighbouring Nepal.

The epicentre of the earthquake was located in Nepal, according to the National Institute for Seismology.

The National Centre for Seismology issued a statement saying, "Earthquake of Magnitude:4.6, Occurred on 03-10-2023, 14:25:52 IST, Lat: 29.37 & Long: 81.22, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Nepal, for more details Download the BhooKamp App."

The initial earthquake was 4.6 magnitude and 10 kilometres deep. The second earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.2, struck at 14:51 1ST and had a depth of 5 kilometres.

The earthquake jolts Delhi-NCR and causes significant tremors in portions of northern India.

Tremors were also observed in Chandigarh, Jaipur, and other northern Indian cities. The police control room in Jaipur stated that no information about any losses was available at the time.

Nepal is located in one of the most active tectonic zones on the planet, classified as seismic zones IV and V. Because of its geographical location, the country is especially vulnerable to earthquakes.

According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in the United States, on April 25, 2015, Nepal had a terrible 7.8 magnitude earthquake, resulting in the sad loss of over 8,000 lives and injuring over 21,000 others.
